ABOUT THE ARTWORK
An original painting strong. by Sigrid Patterson, artist quality acrylic and stretch Belgian linen. Banksias are one of my favourite plants. The displays of new velvety blooms, fill blown flowers and spent wonky cones are all amazing, architectural and strong. This is the coastal banksia. It evokes childhood memories for me, bushwalking along the coastline of eastern Australia. We would collect the cones for xmas and everyone had its own little face and personality. This banksia is also know as 'old man banksia'.
