In Hindu mythology Ganesha, the elephant headed God, is the remover of obstacles, and God of beginnings. This painting is an homage to auspicious beginnings. Born in New Delhi, and based in New York, Meenal's art is experimental and ever- evolving. Her techniques include use of multiple mediums, playing with combinations of painting, sculpting, pour art, textures and eye grabbing contrasts. Themes of spirituality, meditation, diversity, interculturality, migration, pain and pleasure are at the root of her expressionist art. Her latest collection utilizing these pictorial techniques and concepts seeks to explore the sense of Self. Meenal considers herself a life long learner, and quasi philosopher trying to unpeel life in its many layers. After working with a Fortune 500 multinational for a decade as a marketer, she embarked on her journey as an artist. A self taught artist propelled by instinct in large parts, she started her artistic journey with representational art focused on the tranquility found in details of flowers and turquoise ocean. This was her sold out Blowin' in the Wind series which can be found in collectors homes from Canada to Malaysia to USA and UK. Increasingly drawn to abstract art and a more contemporary stripped down aesthetic, her latest collection, Tat Tvam Asi (That Thou Art), unites the macrocosmic ideas of God and universal consciousness with the microcosmic expression of the self. The idea that all beings are intimately connected to universal energy and cannot be separated from it.
