Gemu, Lion Goddess of the Mountain is a Goddess of the Mosuo people, an ethnic minority with roots in Tibet, who live on the shores of Lake Lugu in China. They are a matriarchal and matrilineal culture, practicing "walking marriage", where women and children stay with their mothers and grandmothers, and men visit.
