Gene Pool Painting

This piece was inspired by the Jeff Orlowski docudrama 'The Social Dilemma'. It explores the rise of social media and the manipulation and exploitation of society. It shook me to the core. It seemed another example of the way in which we, as a species, through our behaviour, wreak havoc on the planet. It occurred to me how we rely on short cuts for everything, our insatiable desire for consuming, and our collective ignorance or disregard for the consequences. I wanted to try and express how we could morph into a totally digital realm - no longer science fiction.
