ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have been studying our close cousins, the gorillas for some time. I feel they have been given a bad reputation. They are some of the most family oriented, kind, and gentle creatures. Sure they can act aggressive but so can man. I hope to create they're kindness and show they're human-like expressiveness especially in the eyes. Creating a portrait of the face and allowing the viewer to 'see' the rest of the animal within their own view is why I choose to use the almost monochrome white on black.
