Oil, tempera grassa, acrovinilico and charcoal on canvas. Signed on back and front, comes ready to hang. It's protected with final varnish and it's shipped in a wooden crate. Painted on two 35x50cm. canvases, for a final image of 50x70cm. With the first works presented in September 2024, the Incanti represent an attempt to bring together all the elements of D'Adamo's painting research, continuing this path in search of new visual solutions. In Incanti we find the complexity and layering of the image that characterizes his works, combined with the musicality of the gesture, the juxtaposition of a strong palette with neutral, almost mural-like spaces, a stroke now disruptive now intimate and diaristic, calligraphic. The outcome is an image in constant motion, as if shaken by an subterranean wind, suspended on the canvas as if still to be fulfilled before our eyes, or ready to vanish into the mists from which it arose, vital and never resigned. The Incanti ask to be open to the complexity and dialogue of the parts, to dig deeper without losing lightness, to find a balance in shapes without flattening and simplifying.

Painter and musician, Francesco D’Adamo was born in Siena, Italy in 1979 and grew up in Termoli. His first approaches with painting came during his childhood by taking private classes, but it was only after 2006, when he moved to Bologna, that painting came back as a constant and fundamental presence in his life and over time became his main activity. The following years saw his first exhibitions in the city and the participation at various art fairs and events over Europe and Asia. This first decade of painting research brought on Francesco the interest of collectors and art lovers from all over the world and culminated in the prominent solo exhibitions Chimere (2017), Discanto (2018) and Dyssomnia (2019, Hong Kong). These first ten years of work came together in the book “Decade,” published in 2021. His painting research is rooted in the Italian informalism and American abstract expressionism, with particular emphasis to a continuous dialogue between visual and musical language. The sign and its rhythm, layered surfaces, a strong palette and the use of different techniques, they all flow together to create a lyrical and yet deeply concrete image.
