About The Artwork

Painted with acrylic on a linen canvas. Stretched on a wooden frame. Also painted on the sides and ready to hang. “Give the traveler a chair” is painted with acrylic on a stretched canvas of 80x60cm. Pereboom uses the metaphor of a chair for hospitality, the suitcase for coming home with stories, and the world map, the old shoes for the journey that has been made and the coat for coming home. Pereboom uses the figurative imagery combined with abstract colors. Paintings of Hanneke are atmosheric, romantic, surrealistic and humoristic. In her works, she chooses to play with surrealistic proportions and situations in which the colour contrasts are remarkable. Keywords; traveler chair hospitality suitcase globetrotter modern brown home
