"Glastonbury Festival" Painting

Emma Kenny is a British contemporary artist, born and raised in London. Predominantly a figurative painter, her expressive oil portraits evolve in a free-flowing, spontaneous process. Seeking to celebrate the beauty in humanity, Emma injects movement and texture to her pieces, allowing bold, intuitive marks to work in unity. Emma took the leap in becoming a full-time artist during the pandemic, and has been pursuing her passion ever since. She leans into her self-taught background by using unconventional painting techniques, often revealing the physicality of the process in the final piece, as well as adopting a more intricate approach to create that beautiful contrast between harmony and chaos. Always one to thrive on larger scales, in 2022 Emma began painting murals and has since created custom art for high-end clients and businesses, ranging from premier league football players to global hospitality groups. Emma’s work has been exhibited in Gallery 31 during Cannes Film Festival, at The Other Art Fair in London, as well as her own solo exhibitions at Deptford Does Art and The Tabernacle in Notting Hill. Her large social media following reflects on her international reach; having sold paintings to over 20 countries worldwide. Her most recent collection, ‘Lenscapes’, is an explosion of energy, designed to inspire and captivate, through a vivid and evocative lens. Each piece reveals a fictionalised version of herself, reflecting on sun-drenched landscapes, full of adventurous spirit, desired dreams and youthful escapism. This new series retains her liberal use of texture, vibrancy and layering techniques; creating tactile and evocative portraits. Maintaining a zest for life that is clear inside and outside of the studio, Emma strives to squeeze the most out of her time. Her artwork mirrors her hedonistic tendencies with a consistent theme of celebration weaving through it. Her eagerness to learn reflects her fast-paced and varied career so far.
