A painting of a living room of animals as furniture, this painting is a sophisticated take on domestic life. A cross between man and nature, surreal and open to interpretation, there are more questions than answers here. My imagination takes reference from my everyday life, both waking and dreaming, often finding solace somewhere between the two. As a new mother of two, life has been wrapped up in the domesticity of life. Cleaning up after two little babies and watching them stumble into growth has been like trying to train and contain two little animals from the wild. Having to furnish a new home with little furniture also, my desires tend to come out through my paintings. May these images provoke as much curiosity in my viewer as much as they did trapped within my head. I hope they will bring joy and wonder like they have done for me for the several months it took to paint them into the world. I love acrylic paints for the ability to mix any colour I fancy along with its easy clean up and quick drying nature that helps me to feed the addiction for new imagery I so desperately and constantly crave. I love animals for their ability to connect to humans as living creatures regardless of race, class, ethinicity, etc. and I love surrealism for the freedom of expression it allows for unfiltered and uncensored thought. All four sides are painted and therefore painting does not require a frame. Complete with hangy wire it is ready for your enjoyment! Commissions are welcome, or for more info.
