About The Artwork

** Original not available SOLD ** I am inspired by flowers and still life painters from the Dutch Golden Age. One of them is Jan Davidsz. de Heem (1606 - 1683) with his painting 'still life with flowers in a glass vase'. After I tried to approach this painting in watercolor, I cut the painting into 6 pieces. The painting is archival museum quality matted (no frame included) The total size with matte 11,81 inch ( 30 cm ) x 15,75 inch ( 40 cm ) For seperate views of one of the 6 small paintings, please, see my other paintings..

-- The Joy of Painting -- My goal is to achieve the best possible realistic effect with several thin layers of paint (watercolor, oil or colored pencils). It is always a challenge to find a balance between color, light and shadow. I enjoy building up the different layers of paint with the painting slowly coming to life with every added layer.
