Mark Allen envisions a post-utopian world, in which science and technology is so highly advanced, that we can create hybrid species between humans and pineapples. These Trans-Human Pineapples are a humorous critique of science, society, and contemporary technology. Mark Allen is an artist, photographer, and designer based in Venice Beach, California. He became infatuated with pineapples a few years ago, learning about their symbolism and the role they played in historical contexts of life and luxury. He believes that Pineapples can bring happiness and joy to all who gaze upon their shape and form, and hopes to spread that optimism to the collector and viewer.
