ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The author has been living nearby Prague for many years. The beauty and historical value of many places in Prague do not cease to amaze her. Take, for example, the picturesque character of the Golden lane (Zlatá ulička in Czech) with its amazing tiny houses painted in bright colors. This narrow lane is the last remainder of the small-scale architecture of Prague Castle built in the 16th century. It takes its name from the goldsmiths that lived there in the 17th century. From 1916 to 1917 the house No. 22 was inhabited by the writer Franz Kafka.
