It was an ordinary summer day. I remember I met with a friend of mine for a dinner. And after she left I decided to stay and walk in Queen's walk near the Tower Bridge. The sun was setting and I was sitting on the warm stone bench and watching how golden coloures play on the Thames surface, slowly changing into red and orange ones. The day was fading and the skies were colouring deep blue. And I just wanted to still this moment in enternity. So on this picture the sun won't have to set. The blue and gold are always be on the canvas together reminding me to seize the moment and live. I hope that you'll feel the warmth of the summer day and will always remember that the sun sets every day, so we have to make every day matter. That day was ordinary but I it gave me an inspiration for this painting which made the ordinary - extraordinary. All my abstract paintings are expression of the pure emotions and I know that everyone would percept them in a different way. Nevertheless, I hope that it will bring you joy as it did to me in the process of painting.

Lu Orlova is Born in Riga, Latvia, combining European and oriental background, she’s works are controversial, tempting and breathtaking. ‘Art has always been a vital part of my life. To draw is like breathing to me. It’s a part of my nature’. She started to draw when she was 4 years old. The talent grew naturally, her paintings were often chosen for exhibitions and following her teachers’ advice, at the age of 12, she entered the Art school which she successfully graduated from. She’s always loved to experiment, to sketch, to paint, to draw even to sculpt. Using various techniques and materials such as acryl, watercolors, ink, pencil, pen and oil she bears all her feelings, emotions and thoughts on her paintings. You may not understand what the ‘author’ meant but you’ll definitely feel it. After her relocation to London in 2006, she studied in LCCA, and was featured in “Creative” magazine, participated in a few exhibitions with her paintings being in private collections in Latvia, Russia, the UK, Belarus and the USA. And never stopped painting, and never will.
