About The Artwork

Begun in 2012, the big nudes are the continuation of the "blue nudes" which were more informal, more "abstract", less precise ... It is after having accumulated for years full of sketches of nudes with my model, to the point not to need it any more, that I decided to paint this series. Even if the movements given mainly take into account my inner patterns, I needed to embody these rhythms with real feet, real hands, real thighs or bellies, etc ... from real observation. I have the impression of turning around the model (like a memory of cubism in less theoretical), which allows a reading less frontal, more playful, more "alive", obliging the reader to traverse all the surface of the table.
