Cathy's passion is breathing color and life into her paintings through the fluidity of watercolor.
She is drawn to the organic, natural way flowers bloom and spill as they morph into their surroundings. It seems to be a perfect union to introduce birds, butterflies and at times, people.
She is particularly attracted to the rich textures, and intoxicating colors that can be found in lush tropical settings.
Cathy is also inspired by women of exotic countries around the globe, including Japan, Fiji and Peru.
Capturing the vibrancy and depth of color is paramount to her paintings.
Cathy has a unique method of painting which involves mixing all of her colors from just three tubes of paint, the primaries. Cathy teaches quite extensively employing this method to her students.
