ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This semi- abstract painting continues a body of work inspired by reflections and the joy of growing vegetables and growing in general. The painting is my interpretation of how the colours sometimes merge, looking through the opaque polytunnel wall but also take on the reflections of the colours and forms from the outside.

I am a degree educated, full-time, independent artist living and working for over 25 years in Devon, with a studio at Elfordleigh near Plymouth, UK.. I live and work in a beautiful part of the country, and take inspiration from that. I choose to interpret this, not necessarily by painting the topographical, but instead finding the ordinary to describe the extraordinary. I like to explore these, they are often far from being simple and uninspiring. I find there is a natural poeticism, look closely and you will find a complex tapestry of colour, texture, light and shade.
