This is one of a series of seven small works based on the concept of the 'Seven Mortal Sins' deeply embedded in the beliefs of monotheistic religions. This painting is a personification of "Vanity". How would the seven sins appear if they were fantastical characters in a modern day fairy tale? That was how I imagined them. Each painting is a portrait of those characters with their own quirks and specialties. They are whimsical, cute, mysterious, revolting, funny and straight out of an ‘Alice in wonderland’ rabbit hole! This is a collection of seven paintings in Watercolor and pen and ink on legal bond paper, each framed separately in glass (17 x 17 x 1 inches dimension) but meant to be displayed together as a cluster. NOTE: Custom duty fee if any is payable by the buyer. Different Countries have different rules and regulations for packages being shipped in and the Custom duty fee varies as well. Such fees are not included in the shipping cost.

After graduating as a Bachelor in Fine Arts, I have worked as a graphic designer for 6 years in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. I resumed creating independent artworks in the varied mediums of painting, digital graphics and art installations after moving back to Kolkata in the year 2008. My chosen medium is watercolor and pen drawing on paper. My art works are an exercise in exploration of the self, as a creature of nature; an evolution through understanding of my physical, sensual and spiritual needs. They are expressions of personal confusions, visions, emotions and realizations. On one hand they are projections of my thoughts on worldly matters, which often baffle and trouble me, on the other they are personifications of my lunacies, fantasies, magical dreams, wicked thoughts and mischievous self expressions. Through their untamed and fantastic imagery, they are intimately mine and ultimately me.
