This artwork is intended to draw attention to the problem of pollution of the seas. Pollution problems are experienced by all reservoirs on the planet, but the Gulf of Mexico is a vivid illustration of the process of the poisoning of the seas. The Gulf of Mexico is the inland sea of the Atlantic Ocean with an area of 1,543 thousand km². And this reservoir is rightfully considered the dirtiest sea in the world! The waters of the rivers of the USA, Cuba, and Mexico bring here the remains of agricultural fertilizers and sewage, polluting the reservoir with nitrates and phosphorus. In addition, oil spills occur here with enviable regularity. For example, in 2010 there was the largest oil spill in the United States. More than 5,000,000 tons of oil barrels went into the bay, which caused instant death of fish on an area of more than 75 thousand km2.
