ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work was based on a sketch I did while travelling. The painting shows a combination of banana trees and palm trees giving a tropical feeling and suggesting a warm climate, hence the title Hanoi (the capital of Vietnam). This was painted on slightly creamy coloured paper that was prepared with some small yellow marks to give the piece a slightly rough and utilitarian feel, almost as if it was made in the field.
