My paintings scenes reflect areas of Quebec and New England. Sometimes, they seem to talk to me. I look at trees, hillsides, water and suddenly, the painting becomes clear in my head. Having lived in these two areas, I have a soft spot for these regions. The subject matter is less important to me than what response or effect we receive when we look at my paintings. Shapes are intertwined with special and unique color combinations. A tree becomes an elegant shape; a river turns into an soft line. Acrylics, ink pens, charcoal are my favorite mediums. I use them in a careful but somewhat abstract way. My scenes are meant for you to reflect on a distant memory or just make you dream of a place which you hope to see one day.
