Hakan Ecevit was born in 1982. He continues the painting work he was interested in during his high school years at his studio in Ankara. The artist, who was accepted into the Faculty of Fine Arts, completed his education at the Faculty of Architecture. Throughout his professional life, he lived for seven years in the cities of Paris in France, Cologne in Germany, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands. There, he had the opportunity to work with local artists in the fields of basic drawing and design techniques, art history, architecture, and urban design. He held his first exhibition in 2017 in the state of California, USA. His series were selected twice by curators in France and exhibited worldwide. The artist, who has held three solo exhibitions, has participated in many prestigious exhibitions and art fairs both domestically and internationally. His exhibitions have been featured in various national print, visual, and audio media. His works, included in important collections, adorn the walls of leading federal schools in Germany. One of the artist's works was chosen as the cover image for a novel published in March 2025 in the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Netherlands by the world-renowned US-based publisher Simon & Schuster. Hakan Ecevit represented contemporary art on leading global digital book sales platforms such as Amazon and Goodreads with his works. The artist is known for his differently themed series created with his unique technique. Artist Statement He is always seeking a new way of contemporary art and he continues to create different styles of artworks. For him everything starts with dreaming and he believes that the creativity is innate. He reflects the world around him on his drawings and paintings by reshaping it with his imagination. Creation starts with a shape or image appearing in his mind. Sometimes an entire image appears in his mind, but sometimes he follows his instincts without knowing what will be created in the end. Sometimes his artworks have a discourse, sometimes just let you feel it by yourselves. He’s dedicated to affect people and make them happy, surprised and excited by his art. He loves drawing and painting abstract, colourful shapes and patterns on many kinds of themes. Hakan Ecevit creates themed works with lines. Works starting with only one line become increasingly complex, articulated, so they are transformed into a shape. He creates various themes with his style.
