Heart Sutra Painting

Alia is a self-taught mixed-media artist, born in Russia but immigrated to Australia in 2014. Her creative practice represents a journey within. Alia's works serve as a passage breaking through the labyrinth of the mind and ego, leading to a re-connection with the deep source of inner truth. Approaching each painting with curiosity, open mind and heart, Alia surrenders to the innate completeness of each artwork. Ideas and mediums to choose her, not the other way around. While having explored digital mediums, Alia finds herself the most at home working with oils, acrylics and watercolours. She loves observing how through the flow, these mediums come to life on canvas or wood, each having its own beauty. Alia's art is heavily inspired by nature, mythology, spiritual practices, and the intricacies of the mind. Every piece she creates is rich with symbolism, telling a unique story. The exploration of the harmonious relationship between nature and humans is a recurring theme in her paintings. Nature, to Alia, is the universal remedy for any dis-ease of the mind or body, and she fills her artworks with its essence. Through her works, Alia extends an invitation to viewers to reconnect with nature and themselves. Each of her artworks can be seen as a portal, encouraging people to open the doors within, embark on a journey of self-discovery, and unveil their own truths.
