ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I painted this in the early hours of New Years Day, 2019. We are experiencing a heatwave in Sydney at present, hence the title. The abstract underpainting was created first, and I then drew the figure with charcoal. After a good spray of fixative, I painted her body using Windsor and Newton acrylics, leaving some areas where the underpainting is visible. I particularly like the blues and greens on her thigh, which looks like a tattoo. This painting is varnished and ready to post immediately.
