ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In this series, titled Hemispheres, I explore the tension between division and connection. Two bodies or shapes, constructed from forms that seem to fade, are engaged in a visual dialogue. Above them, I’ve poured Ultramarine blue acrylics to create two shapes that converse across the composition. The pale layers of color beneath play an intriguing role, evoking for me a brain with its two hemispheres—attempting to communicate across a chaotic landscape and a fading background.
