And the largest she ever worked on so far. The story behind this piece have actually much more closer meaning to the artist than you think. Initially, she made this as an entry for an application, yet, as she worked more and more, she later realized that what she created is her long lost voice wanting to be heard. A message she wanted to convey. Let us first start with the title. "Her" is like a mirror symbolism to the artist and the artwork. In this piece, the artwork depicts the artist and vice versa. It refers the artist as her and the artist will always refer this artwork as her, because in actuality it is herself. The second word is "Homegrown". As you can see there are a lot of magnolias surrounding her. Those symbolize the things or ideas which are already out to the world. The magnolias within her represents those things and ideas that only she can do, thus representing a unique, more vibrant magnolias. The dark scene means the dark days in life and the lighter colors for the sky represents there will be better days ahead. It signifies a better tomorrow. It shows that every human being, with his or her own unique magnolias, can change his or her life or better yet the world we live in. This implicates that a single soul can actually bring greater good to society. And it is a decision whether to bring it out and share it to the world.
