ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The artisans of the Gond Tribe dwelling in the forests of Central India looked upon elephants as majestic creatures. With the advent of civilisation, the elephants were driven out of their natural habitat, which angered the Gods. The artist, in this particular piece, draws a line of commonality by finding similar ground with the vulnerability of the elephants and depicts the striking pathos evoked by the war between Man and Nature.
