ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Featured art on the album Vril Kosmische Urkraft by Comets Ov Cupid and the cover image for the book Tarot of the Morning Star. The High Priestess represents what is mysterious and intriguing. Like the sphinx, while she maintains her mystery she has power, if she was to reveal her mystery she would lose her power for mystery is energy. Because she is mystery each of her revelations is a door to another of her secrets for she has the ability to morph into another aspect of her personality. She is the eternal quest that is forever illusive. Her message is that to be immortal we need to embrace ambiguity and be excited by perpetual waves of possibility and hazard. Mystery, that which keeps life interesting.

Roger Williamson is a visual artist, residing and creating in Minneapolis Minnesota. Born in Loughborough, England, in 1947 and growing up in Coventry he was inspired from an early age by the French Symbolist painters of late nineteenth century France, These artistic influences, in conjunction with his own esoteric upbringing and practical experiences of magick, mythology and dream control, form the matrix, a collective oeuvre upon which his paintings and writings are an extension. Using diverse creative media, whether painting or writing books, Williamson endeavors to develop techniques that materialize the sensuous dreaming experience into the language of the waking world. Aspiring to reintroduce mystery and ambiguity back into the adventure of human existence through the creative process, encouraging artistic audiences towards "living effulgent and invigorating lives, revitalized from the secretions of our subconscious." Roger Williamson is the creator of Tarot of the Morning Star deck and the author of The Sun at Night. Statement Art is an externalization of the struggle to rationalize and give form to the unknown. Like an oyster driven to create a pearl, the artist channels this internal conflict into a tangible image. I believe that art should be appreciated through personal engagement, allowing the work to speak for itself without being clouded by societal or academic paradigms. This concept parallels techniques first acquired in childhood, such as staring at clouds and seeing recognizable images emerge from the perceived chaos. By allowing a work to resonate with a deeper part of the self, beyond the superficial mind, the viewer becomes a part of the creative process. Through their imagination, the artwork evolves to another level, making it dynamic and in constant flux, much like nature itself. In this way, art transcends mere visual representation and becomes an active dialogue between the viewer and the artifact. It invites an individual interaction that fosters a unique experience every time, underscoring the fluid and transformative essence of art.
