"Homage to Lady Gaga" Painting

Many of my paintings embody and celebrate the important role of a woman in society .I depict the woman form as a modern contemporary woman of different races.So I respect the woman no matter where she is from and she takes a role of a goddess where the different birds and animals of Goa surround,protect and revere her.Creation has started from her.Hence the flora,fauna and wildlife of Goa are all around this woman form where the rich,vibrant colours of Goa play intuitively to produce a tapestry in rhythmic harmony which reflects the moods of Goa.I attempt to show cross cultural connections with local symbolism.These compositional elements appear in the surreal world created within the canvas which I hope will leave memories on the canvas of the mind to bring social change like giving women a rightful place in society,environmental preservation etc. Aadhi Vishal is a freelance visual artist with his studio based in Goa.He has had several solo and group shows in India and abroad and art auctions.He has had the honour of exhibiting his works along with great masters like M.F.Husain and Raza.He had won the State art award in 2001.His works are in several prestigious private collections and museum collections all over the world.His works can be called phantasmogoric.Symbols,hybrid forms and stylised forms add curious twists to the narrated story transforming each and every work into a surreal effusion. The centralised iconic image of a beautiful woman in Aadhi's works metaphorically stands in for the creative inspiration.She is a divine presence who masquerades as several characters.Aadhi looks at the Goan society and the spectacular scenes he sees around him find their critical representations in the various guises of this iconic young woman in his works.As this icon becomes so central she also represents the universe and mother earth and she could disguise herself both as a mythical character and a contemporary woman.
