ABOUT THE ARTWORK
An earthy palette cloaks this colt, hooves treading gently through liquid paint. Layers of acrylic, varnish and ink build a rich patina, as I intuitively mark his minimalist form with sticks, feathers and trailing rivulets of pigment. Embedded symbols emerge through layers. My affinity for horses awoke in childhood, then grew traveling Britain with my own equine companion. I seek to capture both power and vulnerability - the regal poise of a creature tied through time to humankind. Moving meditatively through the abstract terrain, he steps with care across new ground, curious yet cautious, embodying nature's wisdom. Through sparse yet evocative brushwork, I distill the essence of horses - their spirited grace and calming presence. With an earth-toned coat and watchful eye, this young wanderer represents the trusting bond between mankind and our ancient four-legged guides.
