Vladimir Savic has never found a good excuse to write about himself in the third person, therefore I am not going to do that. Being a trained graphic designer, I was usually involved in a reticent monologue with the market and its restrained aesthetics of clear shapes and clean colors. Those idealized forms work the best in a one-sided narration. Now I’d like to invite You to a dialogue, a much more intimate conversation. At its core, my work in never initiated by overarching narratives, but inevitably some story emerges during the process of creating. The way there is not always consistent, though. Sometimes I start with clear idea and sketch, on other occasions I follow my imagination without even such loose constraints. The former case necessitates correcting “mistakes” of inceptive chaos until some story finally materializes. After all, one can identify only those shapes from splatters, which are already carved deeply in subconsciousness. It doesn’t always have to be a firsthand experience. We were all influenced by other’s works or deeds at various stages of our development. In other words, it was “passed” to us and affects us both professionally and personally.
