Sameh Refaat is an Egypt based artist working mainly in visual fine arts. He was born in1976 and raised in Cairo.
Sameh holds a bachelor degree in fine arts from Helwan University in Cairo.
Member of the Egyption Syndicate of Fine Artists.
He work in his own studio at cairo focusing on Art as a full-time job.
Sameh derives inspiration from the various elements in nature , old places ,
landscapes , ancient egyption heritage , arabic motifs , caligraphy and arts history .
Sameh's style tends towards abstraction his work focuses on working without
preconception , there is chaos in the construction , Layers, textures and colors define a
moment in time and space where intuition directs artistic processes till balance is achieved.
The reasons for the artist's shift to the direction of abstract expressionism is the freedom of emotion in
colors , lines and shapes without being bound by academic traditions.
Abstraction fulfills his daily passion. Every day a new experiment and new artistic surprises give him a
meaning of continuity.
He is working with different mediums such as drawing, painting , photography , digital paintnig and silkscreen printmaking.
He has participated in a variety art fairs at Egypt since 2000 till now.
His works can be found in corporate collections throughout Egypt as well
as in private collections worldwide .
