Influenced by abstract expressionism, especially likes Joan Mitchell. It's a story about a beast or a situation where you have to control your emotions. I remembered the way to work in the morning, eat dinner, work every day, and walk home at dawn. The road was quite long, but the street trees and the snow that fell little by little gave me little comfort. I don't know how long it will be, but I walked with vague conviction that everything would be better. This painting gives me something such a bittersweetness. You can feel extreme tension in the thick colors drawn with quick brushing and knives. I used high quality oil painting and sunflower oil.

South Korea
Born in Seoul in 1979, I have been working in Korea ever since. I enjoy the values of expressionism from a standpoint opposite to reductionism. In my paintings, many aspects of existence are expressed in color and filled with their own translations. A world where order and chaos are intertwined. I make this world a landscape. My paintings do not simply convey a scene, but offer them a ritual in a certain vortex. ‘I have been interested in the dynamic expression methods of classical music and baroque, and recently I have been working on the predetermination or delimiting of a certain flow based on one's own pure decision. When I hear music, certain scenes and stories come to mind, and these are all human emotions that cannot be expressed in words. Sometimes sad, happy, and painful emotions become the subject of painting. However, I am not interested in arranging those emotions, I only want to show the combination and order of the form. When I paint, I try to create as many complex compositions as I can as best as I can by throwing colors around. What comes to mind at that time is very specific, such as the bridges and roads I saw in the city, the color of the roof, and the shape of the buildings. When I make such a complicated composition with colors, the colors start to move and start to get on the rhythm. I follow those moments and continue composing as if I was creating a chord using the most pleasing state possible.’
