If I Were a Rich Girl Painting

Born, raised and educated in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, Riste Cherepnalkoski remains to live and work in his home town. He received his degree at the Pedagogocal Academy-Department of Fine Arts, from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. For a number of years, he worked as a visual arts teacher in primary school. Since 2011, he is retired. Riste is a member of the Society of Visual Arts Teachers and regularly participates in the Society’s exhibitions. He has also taken part in numerous art colonies throughout Macedonia. Moreover, his paintings are exhibited in many art galleries in Macedonia. Much of his inspiration comes from the diverse urban and rural architecture of Macedonia, as well as the amazing landscapes. Perhaps even more prominent in his paintings is the inspiration he takes from mythology and literature at large, from various music genres, and particularly from the cubist epoch. These are especially reflected in his works in abstract expressionism, exploring the universal themes. His paintings are mostly oil and acrylic on canvas and his signature work consists of bold colors and abstract forms. He brings a fine and experienced feel to his paintings through a distinctive balance of color, composition and texture. His style shows the influence of cubism, but his works are always a reflection of his personal inspiration, without ever attempting to follow or compare to other artists. Through his paintings he conveys his unique artistic vision. His artwork allows and invites viewers to explore and get involved in their own interpretations, to find new greater level of depth of meaning. Viewers who are passionate about paintings and try to receive what they have to offer, who are searching for an emotional experience and a creative inspiration, will appreciate his works the most. Even though his paintings share the same techniques and expressions, they are characterized by the unique symbolism they carry.
