“Il y a des Cactus” Acrylic painting on canvas. Stretched and framed in a handmade wooden floater frame. The painting is sealed with a coat of glossy varnish for protection. SIZE: Art size: 12 x 12 inches Framed size: 12.875 x 12.875 inches Frame depth: 1.0625 inch ABOUT THE FRAME: The whole stretching + framing is handmade by me, with a lot of work and love! I make my own stretcher bars from pine wood pieces and stretch the canvas myself, then I make the floating frame and I put it all together with great care. So you get a painting and a frame that are both created by the artist :) The wood frame is natural pine wood (I did not add varnish on the wood because I like the unfinished look and feel, but you can varnish, stain, or paint the frame yourself if desired). Signature on front. Title, year and signature on back. Hanging wire installed on the back - ready to hang. Comes with signed certificate of authenticity. Shipped very carefully packaged in cardboard/box. Thank you so much for your interest in my work!

Once upon a time, there was a creative little girl named Caro. She loved spending her time creating drawings, which she then sold for 5 cents or 10 cents to passers-by in front of her family house in Québec, Canada. She dreamed of being an artist when she grew up... Years later, the dream came true! I graduated in graphic design in 1999, and spent the following twelve years working as a graphic designer and art director. Then, finding that my work was not satisfying my thirst for creativity and my need for artistic freedom, I opened my own creative online shop in 2012. In 2023, in addition to my work as a self-employed surface designer and illustrator, I have taken up painting in order to professionally explore a passion that until recently had remained somewhat in the shadows of my other creative achievements. I like to paint simple and repetitive shapes in an abstract expressionist style and intuitive approach, in order to find myself in an almost meditative state - I find freedom there, a creative letting go, I disconnect from everything, and my mind escapes. A color lover, I like to play with all the possible tones and shades imaginable. I create compositions where lines and dots come together in a colorful and happy dance for the eye that looks at them. Rather solitary by nature, I like to create in the quietness of my lakefront home studio in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc (QC, Canada), with my cat Cocotte by my side.
