ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have used a hardwood surface for this painting. It allows me to paint many layers, scratch through it with different implements, revealing past layers of beautiful colours. I also use mark making and expressive gestures to give a feeling of freshness. I have not framed this work as it feel that it will transport much safer. I can have it framed. It would add to the cost considerably with the added weight and cost of framing. I have painted this work in acrylic which is my choice at the moment because of the quick drying and flexibility of the media.
