ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"My world would be a wonderland..." Many of the pieces I've created in 2019 revolve around the theme of a personal world, and what it means on different levels. In this piece, I am referring to the world of the magical child- Those of us who believe in fairies, who are fairies, who visit Wonderland, or the hidden cities underwater, and many other worlds. Intuition and Imagination live right next door to each other, and in many cases, the two overlap. Who's to say what is real and what is not? We are discovering more and more that the dominant reality of one person does not dictate the dominant reality of another. For the person who owns this piece, may it serve as a meditation point on what your imagination is trying to tell you about your reality? This piece was created by using several layers of acetate. I painted each of the different layers with alcohol-based inks, some layers being more abstract than others, and then stacked them on top of each other to create this piece. Although this piece is not framed, I have secured it with matting to allow for easy framing and keep the layers intact.
