‘In a rush’ Painting

This was one of my first paintings which deciphered my new way of painting to this day; this being finishing the painting within a day. At times I surpass this limit I give myself. However, I tend to finish paintings within a day as I crave having a form of documentation that represents a moment in time that becomes unique to one day. I named it ‘in a rush’ for this specific reason, as I found myself wanting to outlet all the energy I had and translate it into abstract. This ‘translation’ was born out of practicing Automatic Drawing since I was a child. I have always treated this style as a form of a documentation of something - a bit like a diary. Once I had enough paintings to place on the wall, I found it was almost like being in a time capsule - a very immersive experience. Francis Bacon also played a big part in the inspiration I had to create these forms.
