Nice to meet you, I’m Heo chang-beom, an artist living in Seoul, South Korea. I'm a person who looks for specialties in everyday life, from its source to its changed values, for any phenomenon, for things that are real, for customs. This curiosity can be easily found in my works, and I mainly work with a lot of thought and research on the starting point of work and the process of development. Currently, society is changing rapidly with the development of technology and science, and information about various beings can be obtained more quickly. Every being that makes up this world is intertwined with that information. However, it has become increasingly difficult to grasp the nature of information by too much information and its copy. In this situation, I would like to approach and interpret infonmation and explore it in practice, not by accepting it as it is. If you look at my works, you can see the monochromatic images. They are shaped in a certain way, and most of the audience will have a pre-knowledge of the object or something triggered by some experience. I'm a Person who questions simple, routine, or natural values. I sculpt specific universally recognizable objects, clone them, adjust lighting, take pictures, and then draw them back into canvas. In these processes, the Artist's subjective elements are reflected, and what the viewer sees is not a specific object itself, but a result of many processes, sculpted and reproduced by the Artist. While you are looking at this series, I hope you not only say "Oh, this is Something!“ but also, I hope you try to think about something that are not bounded by your previous experiences or customs.
