"Inlandsis II" suggests the presence of a mysterious city buried beneath the ice. The rich and varied textures invite exploration, evoking forms and structures partially concealed. The neutral tones of cream, beige, and black create an atmosphere that is both soothing and enigmatic, while touches of iridescent paint add an almost dreamlike dimension, reminiscent of the shifting reflections of light on an icy surface.

Hi! I'm Anik Lapointe, a self-taught painter fueled by creativity! Living in the Eastern Townships (Quebec, Canada), I began my artistic journey in 2007, initially through ambient photography and especially exploring abandoned places (urbex and rurex). Having long been drawn to painting, it was in 2019 that I took the plunge and created my very first canvas. Then, I discovered a new passion for abstract art. Blending various media such as acrylics, collage, markers, oil sticks, and more, my art is characterized by soft and luminous abstract works. I let myself be guided initially by colors and what they evoke in me at the moment of creation, followed by spontaneous movement. In addition to using brushes, I apply paint with various objects at hand to create different shapes and textures. I appreciate the transparencies that reveal multiple layers and often incorporate pencil lines as a final touch. I explore different styles, always within abstraction because life is too short to limit oneself to just one style. I want to have fun!
