The colors and tones are minimal in this piece, I continued my recent habit of using linework as well as cool colors. The piece is contrasted by a darker background. Figures prevail in this piece. The figures look at the audience as if they’re an artwork themselves. This painting would complement hints of green or blue and looks nice beside foliage as seen in the additional photos.

Adam Norgaard (b. 1991) is an American artist working in Japan for the past 9 years. His works reflect the process of adapting to a culture different from his own. Working with oils as his main medium, he remains playful while also maintaining a finished quality. Adam attempts to bring the viewers into a foreign environment of their own by the atmosphere depicted in his paintings. In his own practice he is working at deviating from references and attempting to work completely from his imagination.
