Invisible pink Painting

Placing the object near to the window allows light to reveal the soft forms and accentuates the form. Many painters have used this simple device to enable a composition to develop that engages the viewer, Vermeer, Caravaggio, Morandi, Rembrandt etc. Many of the paintings from this series are opportunities to work with a form with a degree of ambiguity. In this painting I wanted to observe the the way that the form almost disappears against the white of the studio walls and table top. This required much work and many attempts which failed. Eventually the painting started to fall into place and the paint surface became part of the whole composition. The surface and the paint quality became what, for me the painting was about.
