Painting "Invisible" is 90x90cm mixed media on canvas. It is a unique piece that interacts with light and has a different look from every angle (see additional photos and videos) Letters are done with silver paint (acrylic marker) and they are not visible from every angle. Word "Invisible" is 9-letters word and it is repeated in the manner "one letter per number" and distributed across the canvas following the sudoku rule where one nuber cannot be repeated within the same row, same column or same 3x3 square (there are 9 in total). Although there's no repeating in this rule, this patern can be repeated uncounted times, creating an endless loop. I wasn't solving this, I was only following the pattern and copying it. You only have to understand the pattern and to know how to count from 1 to 9. This work is suggesting a relation to the construct that we are living in, not only now but constantly. We learn the pattern and we are repeating, repeating... See the video on my youtube channel here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxMKgcKIQ40 (you´ll need to copy link and paste it in your browser)

Jelena Antić is an Iceland-based visual artist who originally hails from Belgrade, Serbia. She held 7 solo exhibitions and holds a Master’s degree in Painting, Mosaic, and Contemporary Art from the University of Arts in Serbia and is a member of the Icelandic Association of Artists. Her main form of visual expression is through painting but she rejects the general conventions of the medium choosing to avoid specific representations of objects or figures. Much like instrumental music without words or explanation, Her work is best described as a visual representation of feeling both thoughtful and meditative. Her aim is to give the viewers to interpret her work as they see it and to create their own narrative. Antić’s primary influences are informel, abstract expressionism and abstract minimalism inspired by concepts of theoretical physics, philosophy, and contemporary art theory. All her works exhibit a strong personal stamp, deeply influenced by her life and experience.
