It is just another war.... Painting

This painting is another artwork from my series Bystanders. Imagine this: Your child asking you on day about a war in news and you are answering “Oh... It is another war.” We are living in time where we “get used to”. Wars became like “daily bread”, like something normal, usual. This was inspired when I was playing the game of Risk with my family and how the idea of war and conquer is experienced and seen in the game, yet the focus is on the idea of power. As a bystander, we watch, we are sometimes emotionally involved in the event one way or another. But we carry on playing, immersed in the fun of winning and with the news we encounter everyday. Artworks Bystanders where I am revolving around the questions of crisis, struggles of everyday alienation and how we stand as a bystander, watch and read about adversities that take place in various spaces. This painting is made from layers and layers of gouache.
