ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Born Eric Arthur Blair, author and journalist George Orwell wrote 1984, Animal Farm and was shot in the throat while fighting in the Spanish Civil War. His novels on authoritarianism, language and nationality grow increasingly relevant as time has passed from his own twentieth century into the twenty-first. 'It's His World and We're Just Living In It' is my homage to his prescient work, in a world where the information wars have led to the culture wars, and Orwell's flagged inversion of linguistic meaning.
