Stacey has been creative since his school days in Belfast. This was how he escaped from the torment of being bullied and the war that was escalating on the streets. He has used his artistic works to express his inner feelings and the experiences of his life. Up to now these have been personal and private. Many of the works have been destroyed or lost. He now intends to explore his past, present and future, to make a body of work for public view. He has waited till now to paint his story, it starts when he was born in 1959 up to the present day. The artworks are made randomly. They are arranged into series that cover significant times in that history, the artworks are distillations of his personal experiences and thoughts. Growing up living with his brother, a diagnosed schizophrenic and the school bullies of his secondary school. At sixteen he joined the British Army. Many of those experiences haunt him to this day. In his early twenties he embarked on a spiritual journey to India to live in a Ashram, returning as a Swami to teach yoga in Belfast ..... so the story goes on.
