Hello art lovers! You are looking at the 8 by 10 inches acrylic/oil painting finished in 2020. It was made on premium Strathmore paper, primed with Utrecht high quality gesso and stretched on board. First washes were done with acrylics, the a palette knife lead the way finishing with oil the finest artistic brush strokes. As a subject, artist Vladimir Derkach used a symbol of city of Santa Monica - The Surf. While walking along the shore only memory remains in one's mind is surf. Strong and predictable it's like a heart beat. Every 9 seconds the wave hits the shore. This is why this beach is one of the wanted destinations to meditate. Typical Zen Tantric painting, suitable for almost any spot at any home or office. Vladimir Derkach was born in Moscow in 1964. Since "perestroika" had opened the iron curtain he traveled a lot ending up in Santa Monica, California, where he resides now. The sunlight of "wind of change" helps him to work on various subjects mainly in oils and acrylics not forgetting his skills in linocuts and prints. This work is not framed. Thank you for visiting Vladimir Derkach's page!
