Jonny Boy is the representation of the inner child who is locked up in every human being, it is the child who, with the passage of time, tends to forget, to put in a corner of his soul, to hide despite trying persistently to be heard. It is a journey into memory, in sear...

About the Artist

Giovanni Motta

Italy

Born in Verona in 1971.

My nature of artist had already manifested itself as a child! At 9 years I won a drawing competition organized by FAO.
At the same time I interested in figurative and contemporary art with a particular interest in the world of Japanese and .

I begin my artistic journey by painting life scenes extrapolated from my travels around the world with hyperrealist technique.
Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York, London, are essential stages for my research on the theme that will
become the guiding thread of my work: the inner child.

This will lead me to explore culture while also using new technologies, such as modeling and 3D printing.

I began exhibiting in 2000 with solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
I participated in prizes for which I was a finalist, such as the Arte Laguna Prize (Venice 2016), the Aletti Award (2009) and the Arte Prize (Cairo Editore, 2004).

Together with the Galleria Forni I participated in numerous contemporary art fairs, Art Verona, St-Art Strasbourg, Art Helsinki and Roma Contemporary.

"All my work revolves around the prodigious nature of human existence, the portentous, and at times terrifying, quality of life itself, that particular energy that in adulthood seems to become opaque and drastically weakened, but which, on the other hand, is vivid and pulsating during the periods of childhood and adolescence.
Through painting, drawing and sculpture, I intend to evoke those primal and supernatural forces that produce every true vital experience and restore a magical value to existence."
