Joy Painting

Joy, to the artist; feels like the expression of the integration of light and dark that is within oneself to become whole, in perfect harmony, if I can use the word ‘perfect’ in this instance. There is no separation just like the entire human consciousness is not separate even if we are conditioned to think otherwise. You can’t seek out the light only to find joy without understanding the nature of the darkness that is trapped within you, giving you sleepless nights. You can’t receive joy from another because it is already inside you— though they may give you a glimpse of what it feels like but the rest is all up to you to uncover through action. The real work is going within and understanding oneself in total surrender of one’s fear, then it reveals itself. You just won’t notice it because you’re beginning to live it and then one day, it strikes you that you’re capable of handling everything life gives much differently and profoundly than you used to. And then there is stillness of mind. There is true bliss.
