Joy Painting

Painting connects me with a deep part of myself and the light that infuses everything. Listening to my life and the lives of others is vital to my creative process. As I create, I'm invited into the amazing dance of life. There are few places in society that invite reflection and connection to what we are meant to be. As Wendy Beckett describes, the essence of art is that we are "taken into a realm that is potentially open to us, we are made more what we are meant to be. In making their own truth visible, the artists open us up to our own." In creating I find a sacred space that engages my whole being, and I hope my paintings lift the veil. I am an expressive visual artist and creative workshop facilitator, integrating the arts with meditation, reflection, and my work with the local charity, Student Open Circles. I leads groups and individuals in exploring self-expression through various creative medium, facilitating growth in self-awareness, meaning-making, leadership, and engagement in social justice. My artistic works are exhibited locally, in international publications, and in many private collections.
