About The Artwork

"Kitsune" is Japanese for fox. In Japanese culture there are lots of myth and legend about the fox, including believing that they are shapeshifters. The fox is highly intelligent and very swift, hence they are not seen by humans all the time. In this painting I have "Kitsune" poised in a tree, ready to jump at its prey. She has incredibly intense eyes and has a keen sense of smell, so they can spot food from a distance away. They are also able to use the Earth's magnetic field to hunt their prey. This is why I loved the way she was using the whole of her body to pounce out of the tree, when the timing is right, always ready to strike.

I have loved creating art since i was a child. About 8 years ago I started my first airbrushing course & I have been specialising in this genre ever since. I particularly love to paint animals - I love the depth that airbrushing gives my animals. My sister and I started an art studio 2 years ago and I taught her to airbrush too - we are hooked by the mesmerising sound of the air. Most of my pieces are over 1 metre in size and make quite a statment to the viewer. I have had many successes over the last 2 years including being named the Official Artist for AWAMO (Australian War Animals Memorial Organisation) where I have done several commissions as well as illustrating 2 childrens books (one published). I am so proud to have been both a winner and finalist in several national and international competitions during this time and have been twice published in magazine publications. I feel so blessed to be able to create with my airbrush on a daily basis and enjoy doing commissions for my clients too. I hope you love my work as much as I love creating it.
